Measure Head Circumference:
- Use a flexible measuring tape.
- Wrap it around your head where the hat would sit—just above your ears and across the middle of your forehead.
- Record the measurement in inches or centimeters.
Divide by $π$ :
- Use the formula: $Hat Size = \frac{Circumference}{π}$
- $π$ is approximately 3.14159.

Example:

If your head circumference is 22 inches: $Hat Size = \frac{22}{3.14159} \approx 7 (US hat size)$

Convert to Hat Size Standards (if needed):
- For US hat sizes, the number calculated above is your size.
- For metric sizes (used in some countries), multiply your head circumference in centimeters by $0.3183$ (or divide by $π$ ).
