  1. Measure Head Circumference:

    • Use a flexible measuring tape.
    • Wrap it around your head where the hat would sit—just above your ears and across the middle of your forehead.
    • Record the measurement in inches or centimeters.

  2. Divide by π\pi:

    • Use the formula: Hat Size=Circumferenceπ\text{Hat Size} = \frac{\text{Circumference}}{\pi}
    • π\pi is approximately 3.14159.

Example:

  • If your head circumference is 22 inches: Hat Size=223.14159≈7 (US hat size)\text{Hat Size} = \frac{22}{3.14159} \approx 7 \, \text{(US hat size)}
  1. Convert to Hat Size Standards (if needed):
    • For US hat sizes, the number calculated above is your size.
    • For metric sizes (used in some countries), multiply your head circumference in centimeters by 0.31830.3183 (or divide by π\pi).

This method works because dividing by π\pi gives the diameter of your head, which corresponds to the hat size in many sizing systems!
